Universal Music International has made two key marketing appointments. Darren Aboud will relocate to London from Hong Kong to take the role of VP, marketing, for Interscope Geffen A&M, effective Wednesday (Dec. 1).
Aboud has been VP of international marketing for Universal Music Southeast Asia since 2002. In his new role, he will direct and coordinate marketing for the world outside North America, reporting to Max Hole, UMI’s executive VP of marketing and A&R.
Aboud is succeeded in Southeast Asia by Yvonne Yuen, who takes the title of VP of international marketing. Yuen joins the company from Sony Music Asia, where she is currently VP of marketing.
Yuen will be responsible for marketing Universal’s frontline international releases and classics and jazz repertoire in Southeast Asia, reporting to Harry Hui, president for the region.
