Tyler Butler-Figueroa had a pretty amazing year in 2019.
The youngster warmed hearts with his hard-luck story and his commanding talents, which saw him reach the finals of America’s Got Talent season 14.
At age four, he was diagnosed with leukemia. When his hair began to fall out due to chemotherapy treatment, he endured bullying. Playing violin was his therapy.
Now aged 12, the cancer survivor appeared Monday night on AGT: The Champions to remind us all of his many gifts.
At the top, the judges greeted the North Carolina native, who is in good health and has been in remission from cancer for four years. Simon Cowell gave the violist the golden buzzer last season. On Monday, the Brit stated the obvious: “Tyler, you had a pretty amazing year last year, didn’t you.” He really did.
This time, Tyler performed Blanco Brown’s TikTok hit “The Git Up” and had the crowd swinging.
“You are an extraordinary young man,” remarked Cowell. “I’m so happy the performance went great tonight.”
