Tyga makes a six position jump on Billboard’s Social 50 chart, moving to No. 27 after re-entering the chart at No. 33 last week following the release of a new video for his single “For the Road,” featuring Chris Brown, on Friday, May 24.
The Social 50 ranks the most popular artists on YouTube, Vevo, Facebook, Twitter, SoundCloud, Wikipedia, Myspace and Instagram. The chart’s methodology blends weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with artist page views, song plays and reactions.
The slow-paced song set to the white-on-white aesthetic presented in the video has captured the attention of over 5 million global video viewers during the charting week (up 1% over the previous week). Tyga also adds 433,000 new fans overall across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, a 37% increase over the previous week.
Bruno Mars receives a boost into the top five, moving 8-5 after the May 28 video debut of Major Lazer’s racy “Bubble Butt,” on which Mars sings the hook. 2 Chainz, Tyga and Mystic are also on the track.

Elsewhere, David Guetta posts big numbers on Instagram, allowing him to jump into the top 10 (19-10). In between tour dates in Morocco and Germany, he posted pictures to his account of the crowd and fellow tourmate Steve Aoki that have received between 27,000 and 36,000 likes each, helping to bring Guetta over 21,000 new Instagram fans.
Further down the list, Ariana Grande continues her ascent, reaching a new peak (25-17) after performing her top 10 single “The Way” on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” along with Mac Miller on May 29. It fueled a 104% rise in weekly conversation on Facebook, which led to the addition of 117,000 new fans on the platform (up 57% over the previous week).
The rest of the artists on the top 10 experience only a minor shuffling of position.
