With seven nominations, Shania Twain leads the field for the 2003 Canadian Country Music Awards. The show, to be broadcast live on CBC-TV in Canada and CMT in the U.S., will be held Sept. 8 at the Pengrowth Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta.
Twain is up for top female artist; top single, song and video for “Forever and for Always”; the fan choice award; album of the year for “Up!” (Mercury Nashville); and top video for “I’m Gonna Getcha Good.” Twain could also notch an eighth win in the non-voted category of top-selling album.
Aaron Lines has six nods: top male, album of the year for his RCA Nashville set “Living Out Loud,” top single and video for “You Can’t Hide Beautiful,” fan choice and rising star.
The awards are organized by the Canadian Country Music Association. Carolyn Dawn Johnson won three awards at last year’s ceremony, including top female artist, top single and top video.
