New TV on the Radio music is finally here. The New York-based whiz kids have shared the official lyric video for a new song called “Happy Idiot,” which comes from their forthcoming studio album Seeds.
Good news: The frothy, cotton candy theme of the Seeds trailer they teased in July is back! Musically speaking, “Happy Idiot” is more accessible than much of TVOTR’s catalog, but that doesn’t mean it’s a disappointment. Kyp Malone, Tunde Adebimpe, David Sitek and company sound like they’re taking a more guitar-friendly approach than their last studio effort, 2011’s Nine Types of Light. If the rest of Seeds follows suit, they’ll have one killer of an album to play live. Speaking of which, the band kicks off a North American tour Oct. 17 at Santa Barbara, CA’s Santa Barbara Bowl.
