Sony BMG U.K. and Ireland has a new commercial sales division.
Nicola Tuer, senior VP sales, has been elevated to head the new group as senior VP commercial sales group, with immediate effect.
The new London-based unit, which brings together the previously separate sales and commercial departments, will be responsible for tapping new business opportunities for the music major’s catalog.
“This is an exciting new chapter for the company,” says Sony BMG U.K. & Ireland chairman Ged Doherty in a statement. “By bringing together these traditionally different functions of the company under one roof, we are creating an entirely new area of product development allied to ever changing consumer demand. We’ll be able to respond more quickly to opportunities coming from our retail and business partners across the entire industry.”
