In the latest texts series by Dazed, Troye Sivan delivers a sweet, genuine spoken word reading of Sufjan Stevens’ “Mystery of Love” off the Oscar-winning film Call Me by Your Name.
“Blessed be the mystery of love,” Sivan smirks kindly as he reads the lyrics. He blows kisses and does a bird hand puppet on other lines.
This rendition, however, wouldn’t be the first time the pop crooner touched upon the influence of the film in his life. Last month, he told PopCrush that if he could play any character, it would be Timothee Chalamet’s role in Call Me by Your Name.
“I really feel like that was the first time, pretty much ever, that I’ve looked at a character and been like, “I 100 percent relate to that person.” Like every single thing, even down to his body type and the way that he looks. It’s so strange. I look at his body and I’m like, “That’s my body.” Like skinny, small little nipples, pale. Like everything down to the nipples, it’s me,” he said.
