The AI-powered video-creation application Triller announced a licensing deal with leading business-to-business digital music and radio services platform 7digital on Wednesday (Aug. 8). This new partnership means that Triller’s 29 million users will now be able to access millions of songs from leading record labels and use them in videos without fear of copyright infringement. 7digital will also help manage detailed reporting to Triller’s label partners.
After users create videos on Triller with a song of their choice, they can further share the content on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
“We are delighted to partner with Triller and share news of our deal today,” said Simon Cole, CEO, 7digital. “This collaboration ensures that Triller can offer even more compelling experiences to consumers, while the music industry will also benefit from broadening access to digital music through the continued growth of this exciting platform and its impressive user engagement.”
Added Triller CEO Mike Lu: “This relationship between Triller and 7digital gives video content creators and Triller influencers even greater opportunity to share their talents and make their mark on the social media world using the latest chart-topping hits. 7digital’s prominent presence in countries outside of the U.S. will help to further increase Triller’s global footprint.”
This announcement comes on the heels of the monetization model rolled out by the video-creation platform last week. The company previously announced a licensing deal with Universal Music Group in June.
