Trey Songz was the guest performer on “The View” yesterday (Dec. 9) and he, along with the ladies and audience members of the show, were in complete shock when none other than Prince made a surprise visit.

“I’m in New York… in Madison Square Garden… We have a wonderful series of concerts we’re doing here with a whole array of special guests and a band that plays like a jack hammer,” Prince said to “The View” hosts. And when told newcomer Justin Bieber aspires to be like him, Prince advised, “The key to longevity is to learn every aspect of music that you can. I hope he does pick up an instrument and gets a good teacher.”

After meeting Prince backstage, Trey Songz said, “It was amazing. They didn’t tell me who I was meeting… and I was kinda shocked a little bit.” The R&B crooner performed his single “Can’t Be Friends” shortly after.
