Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor took to Twitter to warn fans not to waste their money on a recent re-issue.
A subsidiary of Universal music rereleased NIN’s 1989 debut Pretty Hate Machine, without any re-mastering.
Reznor called the re-release “a record label bulls–t move repackaging the old version.”
“Ignore please,” he tweeted to his nearly 930,000 followers.
The tweet linked a catalog entry for the release, which itself said the re-release is “very similar to the TVT version” and “not remastered.” TVT is the album’s original label.
Reznor, who won a Golden Globe and an Oscar for his original score for “The Social Network,” is recording with his band How to Destroy Angels and is creating the score for David Fincher’s adaptation of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.”
