Tracy Morgan was back on Saturday Night Live, and he brought a few friends with him.
The SNL alum returned to host this weekend’s episode, marking his first time on the venerable NBC sketch comedy series since he was in a serious limo crash in June 2014.
He began his monologue by pretending to have a speech impediment before saying he was just joking. “I’m back,” he said enthusiastically.

He said of the auto accident: “It was awful, but it also showed me how much love and support I have in this world.”
Morgan explained that he reached out to series creator Lorne Michaels a couple months ago. “I said, ‘Lorne, when I get back on my feet, I want to come home,’ and here I am,” Morgan said.
He said that some viewers might be wondering if he has “100 percent mental capacity.” He then added: “But the truth is, I never did. I might actually be a few points higher now.”
Morgan then set up a bit that he claimed was a clip from a “prophetic” 2012 episode of 30 Rock in which his character supposedly almost died. “See, I know the word ‘prophetic’ — my brain works,” he joked.
In the segment, 30 Rock co-stars Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Jack McBrayer and Jane Krakowski made surprise appearances.
“We’re so happy that you’re OK, but we’re even happier that you’re ready to make people laugh again,” Fey to Morgan said at the end of the segment.
