Move over Billy Ray, Miley and Noah…Trace Cyrus is carving out his own solo career.
The 28-year old Metro Station backing vocalist and lead guitarist (and Miley’s older bro) is stepping out on his own with the moody new single, “Lights Out.” It’s slow-burner of a track with a subtle combination of pop, electronica and a dash of emo.
“What’s the point if we’re just a lie/Girl, I want you to live with me/She rocks Chanel when she’s riding her black Benz/Drunk downtown with a gang of fake friends,” Cyrus sings on his solo debut, which he co-produced with Hadrien Vicedo.
It’s shaping as a big year for the Cyrus family. Noah’s fledgling pop career is gaining momentum with her new release “Stay Together” (it’s the second lifted from her forthcoming debut album NC-17) while Miley is working on new material. Dad must be proud.
