Toyota and PBS’s ‘Nature’ are teaming up with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums for a nine zoo national tour to raise awareness about the environment and promote Toyota’s hybrid technology.
The tour begins on Earth Day Weekend in Denver and ends in mid-July in Kansas City, Mo. Not every event will feature music but many will. Mad Professor, The Disco Biscuits and Umphrey’s McGee, among others, will play at Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo on April 22 while Zak Morgan, Miss Lori’s Campus, and Roger Day will perform during Cincinnati’s event from May 10-25.
During the events Toyota cars that utilize hybrid technology, such as the Prius, the Highlander and several Lexus models, will be on display.
“160 million people visited accredited zoos and aquariums last year,” said Steve Feldman, spokesman for the AZA. “These are people interested in nature and conservation. It’s the right audience for Toyota and it’s the right audience for ‘Nature’.”
