— AEG Facilities, a division of Los Angeles-based sports and entertainment presenter AEG, has entered into a joint venture with Arena Group 2000 (AG 2000) to manage, book and operate the 14,400-capacity San Diego Sports Arena. The two parties will partner to share control of the existing operations sublease of the 35-year-old arena, which runs through 2018. AEG Facilities has service agreement deals with San Antonio’s AT&T Center, Indianapolis’ Conseco Fieldhouse and West Valley City, Utah’s E-Center, among others.
— StubHub, the leading player in the secondary market, has been named the official fan-to-ticket marketplace for R&B singer Maxwell’s 25-date North American tour, which launches Oct. 8 at the Opera House in Boston. In addition to Maxwell, StubHub was named the official fan-to-ticket marketplace for Madonna’s upcoming North American Sticky & Sweet tour, along with the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival (Manchester, Tenn.) and the Virgin Mobil Festival (Baltimore).
— Concerts by Tony Bennett, the Decemberists, Get the Led Out, Al Green, Hanson, B.B. King, Bill Maher, Matisyahu, Martin Sexton, John Prine, Steely Dan, Rufus Wainwright, Brian Wilson and Wolf Parade are scheduled from November-February at the newly renovated Wellmont Theater in Montclair, N.J. The 2,000-capacity venue will re-open its doors on Nov. 1 under a partnership between New York-based the Bowery Presents and longtime promoter Andy Feltz. The new promotion company is called Montclair Entertainment.
