Topspin and RootMusic have joined forces to offer artists a new social commerce option on Facebook, it was announced today during Billboard’s Country Music Summit in Nashville.
Via the new arrangement, artists can integrate their Topspin accounts with RootMusic and select merch, music, video, ticket and membership offers to sell on their BandPage, according to a press release. On the BandPage, a store section will be added that includes product artwork, detail pages, buy buttons, and the Topspin purchase flow. Fans can listen, connect, and shop without leaving the BandPage.
“Merch is one of the main revenue streams for musicians to make a living, let this be the first example of the tangible value we will bring to BandPage in year two” commented J. Sider, CEO & Founder of RootMusic. “We’re happy to be in business with an industry-leader such as Topspin.”
“Your fans are on Facebook and RootMusic’s BandPage is the clear leader in the space which has become the standard for musicians on Facebook. We’re proud to be partnered with RootMusic on adding merch, music, tickets and fan club sales directly inside Facebook through the BandPage,” added Topspin CEO Ian Rogers.
Later today, during the Billboard Country Music Summit, Topspin, RootMusic and Billboard Pro will co-host a Digital Music Meet-up at the Nashville Renaissance Bridge Bar with food, cocktails, and entertainment from 7pm-10pm.
