Panama Wedding‘s joyful “All of the People” debuts on Alternative at No. 39, more than a year after the alt-pop act, led by Peter Kirk, released the song on SoundCloud, where it has racked up 800,000 plays. Since then, the New York-based band signed with Glassnote and released the EP Parallel Play, produced by Andrew Maury, a former member of RAC who has worked with Tegan & Sara and Ra Ra Riot.
ZHU’S ‘FADED’ SHINES
After peaking at No. 3 on the Official U.K. Singles chart in August, Zhu‘s chill house track “Faded” (Mind of a Genius/Th3rd Brain) bullets at No. 15 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay. Zhu first built viral buzz earlier this year with his uncredited medley of Outkast tracks, “Moves Like Ms. Jackson,” which won high praise from, among others, influential BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong.
‘BODIES’ TAKES FLIGHT
After Australian EDM duo Flight Facilities premiered the video for “Two Bodies” on Sept. 9, the melodic track debuts at No. 5 on the Billboard/Twitter Emerging Artists chart. Featuring U.K. singer-songwriter Emma Louise, “Bodies” previews Flight Facilities’ debut album, Down to Earth, due stateside Oct. 28 on Future Classic/Glassnote.
