New K-pop boy band Tomorrow X Together arrived on the scene today (March 4) with a bang.
Tomorrow X Together — pronounced “Tomorrow By Together” and also known as TXT– released their first EP The Dream Chapter: STAR today, fronted by the single “Crown.”
A bright synth pop track, Tomorrow X Together’s first single shows off the five member’s synergy, leaning into a playful, energetic vibe as they sing and rap about being devil-like youths who are sorting out who they are as they get older, all while finding solace in someone they have feelings for.
“Crown” was released alongside an animation-heavy music video, enhancing the quintet’s impressive and often interlocked choreography with light-infused graphics of horns and stars along with a variety of animal prints, some of which, like unicorn horns and seven of a nine-tailed-fox’s tails, lean into the mythological.
The Dream Chapter: STAR features four other tracks along with “Crown” that explore a variety of genres, including trap and rock.
TXT is the first group from Big Hit Entertainment since the South Korean company launched BTS in 2013. Republic Records has distribution rights for the band, facilitated by Debbie White, lawyer for Big Hit Entertainment, at Loeb & Loeb LLP.
Tomorrow X Together’s name also trended worldwide on Twitter Monday shortly after the song’s release.
The phrase “Jimin Sunbaenim,” a romanized reference to Jimin of BTS being a senior to the group, similarly trended globally after the star tweeted in support of the new group and the group responded calling him by the phrase.
