Tom DeLonge and Blink-182 might not have the best relationship, but according to him, it wouldn’t take too much to consider rejoining the group.
While promoting his new sci-fi book trilogy, Poet Anderson… Of Nightmares, at Comic-Con, the guitarist was asked what it would take for Blink to make music again — and his response was surprisingly promising.
“Probably just a few phone calls,” DeLonge said with a smile, but no further elaboration.
Former bandmate Mark Hoppus referred to the band’s situation with DeLonge as a “friendly divorce” in a May interview following his departure in January. Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker tapped Alkaline Trio guitarist Matt Skiba to fill in for DeLonge, but Skiba’s position with the group remains uncertain.
DeLonge elaborated on his decision to leave the group in a Facebook post, where he said he “Never planned on quitting, just find it hard as hell to commit.” Now that several months have passed, though, a few calls might just change everything.
