Tokio Myers is so talented, he doesn’t need bandmates. He does it all.
Myers took out Britain’s Got Talent in 2017 and, soon after, enjoyed a top 10 berth on the U.K. chart with his album Our Generation. Now, he has his sights set on a bigger prize.
The Londoner brought his winning ways to the America’s Got Talent stage on Monday night, where he dazzled with an instrumental performance of “Bloodstream” for NBC’s Champions spinoff.
In the preamble, Myers admitted he’d never visited the United States until now. Judging by his performance, this is an artist not overawed by any occasion.
Myers worked the keys and drums and blew everyone away. Howie Mandel was one convert, describing the contestant as “a world class musician” and “the next Quincy Jones.”
