Music videos these days usually equate to a mood board with some active dance moves. Rarely do they tell a story, and even less so is it one devoid of romantic motivations.
L.A. beat queen TOKiMONSTA is not one to do things the usual way, and her recent brush with a medical emergency may have influenced the treatment of her music video for single “I Wish I Could.” It tells the story of this country’s ailing medical programs, cramped hospitals and underserved patients through the eyes of one overworked woman. It’s a hard story to watch and yet a beautiful one to behold.
TOKiMONSTA was one of the artists we at Billboard Dance thought dominated in 2017, and this video only further showcases her strong and unique voice in the electronic music field. Watch the clip below, and look out for more from TOKiMONSTA in 2018.
