
Stephen Colbert will open big when he begins his run as host of CBS’ The Late Show on Sept. 8, with previously announced guests George Clooney and Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush.
But according to the guest list announced this week by the network, the rest of his first week will continue strong.

On Sept. 9, actress Scarlett Johansson and SpaceX and Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk will appear, with the previously announced Kendrick Lamar performing and being interviewed.
Colbert recently said it was fitting to invite Lamar to kick off the program since the Compton rapper was his last musical guest on The Colbert Report.
The guest list for Sept. 10 is Uber CEO Travis Kalanick with musical guest Toby Keith. Keith owed one to the show’s acerbic host. It was Colbert who inducted the renegade country singer into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in June with a hilarious – and totally unexpected — speech.

Meanwhile, on Sept. 11, comedian Amy Schumer and author Stephen King will be on Colbert’s new show, with Paul Simon tribute band Troubled Waters performing and being interviewed.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will air weeknights at 11:35 p.m. EDT.
