London rapper Tinie Tempah and British boy band JLS were both double winners at the MOBO (music of black origin) awards held in Liverpool on Wednesday.
Tempah had led the nominations with four, and picked up the best newcomer and best video prizes, the latter for “Frisky,” featuring Labrinth.
JLS, who rose to fame in 2008 when they came second in the popular British television talent contest “The X Factor,” picked up awards for best album (“JLS”) and best UK act.
U.S. rapper Eminem was named best international act, and London hip-hop stars N-Dubz picked up best song for “Playing With Fire” featuring Mr. Hudson.
