Timbiriche’s 25th anniversary tour is heading to the United States for a 12-city run, beginning March 5 at Club Rio in San Antonio.
The reunited ’80s teen act, whose rotating roster once included Thalia and Paulina Rubio, celebrated its anniversary last year with concerts in Mexico and Central America, along with Chicago and Los Angeles.
This year, the lineup of Benny Ibarra, Sasha Sokol, Mariana Garza, Alix Bauer, Erick Rubin and Diego Schoening will hit clubs in Texas, California, Nevada, Illinois and Arizona. The Hi-Fi Talent & Management-promoted tour wraps April 27 at Vault 350 in Long Beach, Calif.
The sextet’s “T25” album of re-recorded hits on EMI Televisa went to No. 28 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart in September. “T25” went to No. 1 in Mexico, according to trade group Amprofon, and sold more than 150,000 copies there.
A new version of the group, “La Nueva Banda Timbiriche,” was formed on a Univision reality show and is opening for RBD on its “Empezar Desde Cero” tour.
