Tim Kelly has exited Sony Music Australia a little more than eight months after joining the music major as GM marketing Asia Pacific.
Kelly confirms his departure to Billboard.biz and says he’s keeping his career options wide-open.
The label veteran returned to Sony Music Australia last June with responsibilities for the marketing of the company’s international artists in the Asia Pacific region and the Australian artist division. He joined from Universal Music Australia, where he was GM marketing.
Earlier in his career, Kelly jointly founded and served as head of international at One Little Indian Records. He went on to become head of international at Rough Trade Records and managing director at Pinnacle Labels before moving to Australia.
Sony Music Australia confirmed the departure was all amicable and the relationship remains strong.
