Tim Finn will return to North America for a string of tour dates from late-August to mid-September. The Crowded House/Split Enz singer-songwriter plans to preview material from his upcoming album, “The Conversation,” throughout the stint.
As tipped here in April, Finn’s first live appearance will be at Seattle’s Bumbershoot Festival, where he’ll be an opening night headliner on Aug. 30. The next day he’ll perform at the Rifflandia Festival in Vancouver B.C. before beginning a nine-date West Coast tour that hits cities in California, Oregon, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona.
Tim Finn’s new record, a follow-up to 2006’s “Imaginary Kingdom,” will be released in Australia via EMI this October. Details for its 2009 U.S. release are still in the works. The tour and album will be preceded by an eight-song compilation, “Rarities/Demos/Live Performances Vol. 1,” that will be available via Finn’s MySpace page on July 25.
