Ticketfly has added two significant independent promoters to its growing client base in Portland-based Monqui and Nashville-based Outback Concerts.
“These are long term, exclusive deals, and we’re going to do a few things for these guys,” Ticketfly CEO Andrew Dreskin tells Billboard.biz. “We’re going to help them with all of their technology infrastructure, social marketing, we’ll design and host their website using our website tools, which are all integrated with ticketing and the email newsletter and all that jazz.”
Monqui promotes in the Pacific Northwest and moves about 250,000 tickets annually. For Monqui, Ticketfly will now issue tickets for the Wonder Ballroom and Doug Fir Lounge in Portland, as well as the Les Schwab Amphitheatre in Bend, Ore. and other events managed by Monqui.
Outback, one of the leading independent promoters in the world, promotes shows across North America all the way up to the arena level, “so whenever they’re able to gather the ticketing rights to those events, they’ll sell them through us,” Dreskin says. “Our first [Outback] show on sale now is Imagination Movers in Washington, D.C. at Lisner Auditorium. I should note that in both the case of Monqui and Outback, their fees will generally be lower than they were with Ticketmaster in the past.”
Dreskin points out that any venue or promoter can use Ticketfly’s website and social tools without tapping into the ticketing technology. “What these guys find is once they’re using our content management system to power their website, their social marketing and other stuff, it’s super simple to flip on the ticketing switch and have everything integrated,” Dreskin says. “The centerpiece of our strategy is what promoters have traditionally had to do in six or seven steps to create an event in their ticketing software, website, email newsletter, Facebook, etc., is now is one step with us.”
