Island Records rock acts Thursday and Thrice will promote an upcoming tour together with in-store performances Oct. 15 at Apple retail outlets on two coasts. The music performed at the events will be available for purchase as downloads exclusively from Apple’s iTunes Music Store.
Thursday will take the stage at the Apple Store in SoHo in New York. Thrice will play at the Apple Store on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, Calif.
Both in-store events will be videotaped and streamed in Quicktime for free at apple.com/quicktime. In addition, an iPod digital music player will be given to one fan at each appearance. Island is also creating a limited-edition poster for each band that fans will receive only at the Oct. 15 shows.
The performances kick off a highly anticipated double-bill from the two bands — presented by MTV2 and Alternative Press Magazine — which, as previously reported, starts Oct. 17 in Pittston, Pa.
