Geoff Rickly, frontman of post-hardcore group Thursday, has been robbed at gunpoint — and naturally he’s shared all the fall-out on Twitter.
The singer Tweeted details of what was lost in the alleged assault in New York — an iPad, iPhone, passport, wallet, cards, rent money, and his ”medicine for intense medical treatments.” The 34-year-old artist, who has also fronted punk outfit United Nations, has previously been diagnosed with epilepsy.

A fan subsequently set up a Reddit thread encouraging others to help Rickly out with a donation. Money has come in, though Rickly hasn’t updated his followers with the figures.
“A number of kind and generous souls have elected to make donations to my bandcamp, for one reason or another. Unexpected, unsolicited,” he Tweeted.
At deadline, the goods hadn’t been recovered. Though Rickly is clearly glad he dodged a bullet. “Thanks, everyone. I’m safe. I only lost possessions (hell, most of mine),” he said on the Reddit thread. “But I still have the city, the summer, the sun, the simplicity of friends, a feeling and a fucking ‘nother day alive.”
Thursday broke through with its 2001 Victory album “Full Collapse.” A contentious split with the Chicago indie followed and the band later signed with Island and released the albums “War All the Time” (2003) and “A City by the Light Divided” (2006). Having patched up relations with Victory, Thursday returned for a one-off rarities/live compilation in 2008, “Kill the House Lights.” A new deal with Epitaph resulted in the band’s fifth album, “Common Existence,” in 2009 and their sixth album, “No Devolución,” in 2011.
