Thom Yorke has become something of a regular on late-night TV in recent months.
The Radiohead frontman and Hall of Famer isn’t your typical attention-seeking rock star, he’s hardly the type to chase coverage and attention. On Wednesday night, he gave night owls another gift, with an appearance on the latest “At Home” edition of Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show.
Yorke Zoomed it in for his premiere performance of “Plasticine Figures.”
Sporting the full beard and long hair lockdown combo, Yorke was in full melancholy-mode, playing keys in a darkened room. “To only walk/ With assistance/ While the ground it weeps and to know your place,” he sings. If Yorke was trying to capture the mood of the time, he nailed it.
It’s the Brit’s latest appearance on a U.S. late-night show after he stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel Live, both in October 2019.
Yorke teased the performance earlier in the day by posting a lyric sheet to his number and tagging Fallon’s Twitter handle.
