After mysteriously deleting all their social media last week, Radiohead are slowly building their feeds back up. The latest cryptic piece of the teaser puzzle came Friday morning (May 6) when the band posted an Instagram video in which agitated singer Thom Yorke nervously walks around an empty parking garage.
Could it be the first glimpse of the band’s next video? A hint that they are about to drop their ninth album? As usual, we won’t know until we know, but for now fans are breathlessly speculating.
The latest tease comes just days after Radiohead posted two short animated clips that were followed by the full video for “Burn the Witch.” To date, the band has not given any indication of what their release plans are and have not spoken publicly about the album. The “Witch” video was also preceded by enigmatic leaflets that showed up at the houses of some U.K. fans bearing the slogan, “sing the song of sixpence that goes ‘Burn the witch.'”
The band’s upcoming as-yet untitled album, the follow-up to 2011’s The King of Limbs, is rumored to be released in the first half of 2016, through an official date has not yet been revealed. Radiohead will embark on a tour in late May, with appearances set for several major U.S. music festivals, including Lollapalooza and Outside Lands.
