A free Android app that combines music ID with playlist creation. It’s basic feature is a simple music player, used to play songs stored on the users device. It also lets users select a single song from their library and then creates a playlist of similar songs, also culled from the music stored on the device. Finally, the ID feature is a Shazam-like service that not only identifies individual songs on demand, but offers a “continuous” mode where it will ID every song it hears while the mode is left on. There’s no option to buy or stream songs not in users libraries already, although Yahoo says that’s coming soon.
Music Choice
The music service perhaps best known for providing streaming music stations and on-demand music videos for cable TV systems is coming to the iPad. The route to doing so will be through the apps of their cable TV partners, such as the Xfinity app from Comcast. CEO David Del Beccaro says this method proved the quickest and easiest way to get Music Choice’s streaming music channels on the device. The app will feature 45 channels of streaming music, programmed by genre.
