2001 – Chart-topping rap outfit D12 carries out a brutal assault on Detroit rap rivals Esham and T.N.T. The incident occurs during a tour stop in Camden, N.J., and leaves T.N.T. with bruises and cuts, and Esham with a broken nose, a ruptured eyeball, a concussion, and hearing damage to his left eardrum. As a result of the attack, D12 is thrown off the Warped Tour.
1998 – Sony Music Entertainment squashes Best Buy’s Pearl Jam promotion in which the retailer had planned to give away an exclusive live CD by the band to customers who purchase the group’s Epic Video, “Single Video Theory.” Sony files suit, seeking an injunction barring the sale of the CD and damages.
