1999 – Two members and the road manager of hit Tejano band Intocable are killed in a car crash outside of Monterey, Mexico. The are Jose Angel “Pepe” Farias, 23 the band’s onstage MC; Silvestre Rodriguez Jr., 26, the bassist; and road manager Joe Angel Gonzalez, age unknown. Lead singer/founder Ricky Munoz and other bandmembers are injured and kept overnight at a Monterey hospital.
1998 – The Presidents of the United States of America play their final show at Seattle’s Paramount Theatre. The show benefits the Chicken Soup Brigade, which provides food and services to Seattle residents with HIV/AIDS.
