Jacinthe Théberge was appointed a member of the Copyright Board of Canada today, effective immediately.
The Board is the federal government’s regulatory body that establishes the royalties to be paid for the use of copyrighted works in Canada. It also issues non-exclusive licences authorizing the use of works when the copyright owner cannot be located.
Théberge has been a lawyer for numerous years with the Outaouais Community Legal Aid Centre where she has practiced in the fields of civil, administrative and family matters. For 12 years she served as a member of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal, and more recently has worked in strategic planning as an advisor and analyst in the communications and health technologies sectors.
