As the San Francisco Giants and the Detroit Tigers face off for the World Series title, the Who will be providing the soundtrack.
Fox Sports has turned to the rock icons’ classic catalog to provide music for the series, with songs including “Going Mobile,” “Behind Blue Eyes,” “I Can See For Miles,” “You Better You Bet,” “Amazing Journey,” “Bargain” and others to be including during gameplay, highlight shows and beyond — as well as updated remixes of hits such as “Who Are You,” “Baba O’Riley” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again.”
Spirit Music Group conducted the deal, a major venture that follows its acquisition of the Who’s Pete Townshend’s songwriting catalog earlier this year.
World Series Showdown: Music of Detroit vs San Francisco
“The music of The Who is as powerful and propulsive today as when it was first introduced, so using their songs to soundtrack one of the country’s premiere sporting events seems a perfect fit,” Spirit president Mark Fried said in a release.
After a Giants victory in the opening game, the World Series continues with its second game on Thursday night.
