Hot off the heels of his win on NBC’s The Voice, Jordan Smith has inked a worldwide management deal with Sam Feldman and Steve Macklam of Macklam Feldman Management, Billboard has learned.
“Jordan is such a rare and gifted artist. He has already captured the hearts of so many and he has only just begun,” Macklam said in a release. “We couldn’t be more excited to be working together.”
The timing is perfect for Smith, who broke records on the show for being The Voice’s biggest seller, with 1.2 million tracks sold to date and 50,000 albums sold of his Voice compilation CD Jordan Smith: The Complete Season 9 Collection. He is currently in the studio recording tracks for his debut album on Republic Records.
“The team at Macklam Feldman Management is truly unmatched and I couldn’t be more excited to work alongside them,” he said. “The best is yet to come.”
Feldman said the team has high hopes for Smith, who was the first artist from any season of The Voice to hit the iTunes top 10 every single week of the Live Rounds, with a total of eight songs in the top 10 on the iTunes chart — the most of any artist on The Voice.
Mentored by coach Adam Levine, Smith is also the first act to own both the Nos. 1 and 2 spots concurrently on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart and recently raised the roof at the 17th annual Super Bowl of Gospel classic with his performance of “His Eye Is on the Sparrow.”
“Jordan is an extraordinary individual with one of the best voices in the world,” Feldman said. “More importantly, he has a voice that moves people every time he sings. We are very privileged to be working with him.”
