The battles are heating up on NBC’s The Voice, and fans who tuned in Monday night were treated to some heavyweight bouts.
The pair struck all the right chords and injected some soul into the song.
Later, Blake Shelton remarked on Devan’s “badass jacket,” and confirmed the California-born, Denver-based singer’s performance was a “knockout.” There was nothing to fault, only that Jones came up against the mighty Dana.
Dana appeared to be “on point all the time,” enthused John Legend. Guest coach Kelsea Ballerini remarked that Dana exudes confidence, and it’s “hard to look away” from her. The country star also paid full marks to Devan’s “magic” falsetto.
Wrapping up, Nick Jonas remarked that Devan’s hard work had paid off, and he’d made great strides since the earlier rounds. Though Dana, and that “something magical about her voice,” he noted, would not be defeated. The Houston, TX singer got the nod.
There were tears of joy as Devan took the long walk off stage, and Jonas punched the “save” buzzer. Everyone’s a winner.
