Another day, another Madonna controversy.
The Queen of Pop became the subject of conversation on Tuesday’s (Mar. 24) episode of The View after she told Us Weekly she wants to meet President Obama. That wasn’t so much the issue for the show’s panel. Instead they took her to task for this statement, “He probably thinks I’m too shocking to be there. I’m serious. If I was a little bit more demure… or if I was just married to Jay Z. Hey, if Jay would only take me as his second wife, then I’d score an invitation.”
The View hosts weren’t so sure that was the reason. “Maybe he’s not into her music,” Goldberg said in a clip posted online via The Wrap.
Co-host Rosie Perez called the comments “a cheap shot” despite professing her love for Madge. “Beyonce doesn’t need Jay Z — all due respect to Jay, and I love him too — but [she] doesn’t need Jay Z to be invited to the White House,” she added.
“She needs to find herself a nice 25-year-old and call it a day,” Joy Behar further quipped.
