Irish pop-rock band the Script’s “Science & Faith” (Phonogenic/Sony Music Entertainment), which debuted atop the U.K. album chart two weeks ago, moved back 2-1 in yesterday’s new sales data. South London rapper Tinie Tempah, meanwhile, got his second No. 1 single of the year, selling more than 115,000 copies of “Written in the Stars” (Parlophone/EMI), featuring Eric Turner.

Last week’s Official Chart Company album listing had Phil Collins’ “Going Back” (Atlantic/Warner Music) climbing 4-1, but that covers collection fell to No. 3 yesterday. As the Script moved back for a second turn at the summit, Mark Ronson & the Business International arrived at No. 3 with “Record Collection” (Columbia/Sony Music International). It’s the follow-up to Ronson’s 2007 set “Version,” which is triple platinum in the U.K. for more than 900,000 shipments.
The Central Band of the R.A.F.’s “Reach for the Skies” (Decca/Universal) was a new entry at No. 4 on the latest chart, as K.T. Tunstall’s “Tiger Suit” (Relentless/Virgin/EMI) arrived at No. 5. Its U.K. single “(Still A) Weirdo” entered at No. 39. In a busy top ten for new arrivals, Eric Clapton’s new “Clapton” set (Reprise/Warner Music) started at No. 7.
Simply Red’s “Greatest Hits” compilation (simplyred.com) leapt 55-9, as the band continues its farewell tour, currently in Australia and due to reach the U.K. in November. There was also a No. 18 debut for Neil Young’s “Le Noise” (143/Reprise/Warner Music).
Tinie Tempah topped the U.K. singles chart in March with “Pass Out” and then hit No. 2 in June with “Frisky,” featuring Labrinth. Tempah’s “Disc-overy” album is released in the U.K. today (4). As Bruno Mars fell 1-2 with “Just the Way You Are (Amazing)” (Elektra/Atlantic), London hip-hop artist Labrinth’s own new single “Let the Sun Shine” (Syco Music/Sony Music Entertainment) opened at No. 3.
Adele’s cover of Bob Dylan’s “Make You Feel My Love” (XL Recordings), which was on her debut album “19” and a top 30 U.K. hit in late 2008, has won new popularity after being performed several times on the current series of “The X Factor.” After reaching No. 24 last month, yesterday it rebounded 102-4.
Also new in the top ten was “Heartbeat” (Interscope/Universal) by Enrique Iglesias featuring Nicole Scherzinger, up 13-8. Kylie Minogue’s “Get Outta My Way” (Parlophone/EMI) raced 48-12.
Collins’ title climbed 2-1 on Billboard’s current European Albums chart, as Eminem’s “Love the Way You Lie” (Interscope/Universal), featuring Rihanna, made the same move on Hot 100 Singles.
