After telling Billboard exclusively in September of their U.S. album and reality show plans, The Saturdays took to Ryan Seacrest this afternoon to officially tease their upcoming single and E! reality show.
The Sats will debut stateside with a new song “What About Us” featuring Sean Paul also set to be released in the U.K. before the year’s end. A 33-second clip of the dashy dance number can be found on Seacrest’s site. The fivesome earlier described Paul as the “perfect” person to feature on the reggae-tinged pop track.
Though listeners shouldn’t box The Saturdays into Sean Paul’s world; the girls have spoken about their inclination to different genres. “That’s why it’s fun to be pop because we can try different genres,” said member Vanessa White. “We’re all so different anyway and have such different tastes in music so when we do a different genre of song it feels at least natural.”

Last month the girls were still shopping for networks, but it looks like Americans will be introduced to The Saturdays through the E! network. The series, “Chasing The Saturdays” will premiere Jan. 20 next year. The cable network uploaded a video teaser with clips of the girls’ different music videos and “What About Us” playing in the background.
“We feel like the time is now for pop music coming from the U.K. and Ireland,” said member Una Healy in September. “But there’s never been a girl band coming from there since The Spice Girls. It’s time for us.”
The Saturdays’ Island Def Jam/Mercury Records debut album, featuring contributions from Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins and Diane Warren, will be out next year. Listeners can get a feel for the upcoming Sean Paul collaboration through a remix by Buzz Junkies:
