From Kelly Clarkson’s one liners to Janet Jackson’s awe-inspiring performance, the 2018 Billboard Music Awards had no shortage of iconic moments. But, the arrival of the infamous RITAS from Lime A Rita on the red carpet may have been the most memorable of the night.
The duo arrived in style in a hot pink stretch limo on the arms of their date for the evening, DJ Pauly D. They were impossible to miss on the carpet with head to toe pineapple embellishments, rhinestone studded sunglasses and metallic leggings. After posing for the photographers in front of the step and repeat, the RITAS made an unforgettable entrance to the official pre-show, crashing Erika Jayne and AJ Gibson’s stage for an exclusive interview.
Erika wasted no time getting to the bottom of their show stopping outfits, asking the RITAS what they were wearing. “This is the summer of pineapple,” the Ritas explained “we are all about accessorizing with pineapple.” The dynamic duo didn’t stop with purses and shoes, they even brought along their favorite drink, the brand new Pine-Apple-Rita. “This is my favorite flavor,” they explained as they pulled the drink from a pineapple shaped purse, “it’s only here for the summer, so it tastes like vacation!”
The RITAS even made sure to save a can for Erika and AJ to enjoy after the show. “Our secret is to just HAVE-A-RITA,” they explained. “We love a good party— and a fruity drink!”
After the exclusive interview, the RITAS took the party back to the carpet, laughing and posing with all the stars as they prepped for one of the biggest nights in music.
