The Head and the Heart took the stage on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday (Aug. 1), where the band performed their latest hit, “Missed Connection.”
The tune marks the band’s second No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Songs airplay chart, as “Missed Connection” rose 3-1 on the list dated July 27. Their first chart topper was 2016’s “All We Ever Knew.”
“Missed Connection” is featured as the lead single on the band’s latest album, Living Mirage. “This record kind of became beautiful: It started out as this pretty involved process of trying to become friends again, trying to actually be humans with each other and not just talking at each other. We’re talking to one another again, literally, but with music — it feels more harmonious but there’s hints of discord,” Jonathan Russell told Billboard of the group creating the record and rekindling on a trip to Joshua Tree.
