There’s no raving in The-Dream’s new video.
His dance music takedown, “Slow It Down,” finds the radio killa arriving at a party with some old-fashioned bump-and-grind, until a preppy champagne drinker takes issue with The-Dream taking over the bash.
The Fabolous-featuring video ends with a cliffhanger, with The-Dream and his rival in vintage cars, preparing to race. “I thought music was to be the only place where colors didn’t matter, I was wrong,” a quote reads at video’s end, racial tension touched on in the video (the prepster and partygoers are largely white), though the track celebrates his universal appeal: “The white girls still gonna ride it like a rodeo,” he sings.
The-Dream’s new album, “IV Play,” is due May 28.
