You never forget your first love. It’s an innocent and beautiful thing, young romance, and it served as the inspiration for Kygo‘s upcoming single “Kids In Love” which is due this Friday (Oct. 20).
Kygo asked a few of his most famous friends to tell the story of their first love. Vin Diesel remembers falling in love with film alongside his father. Drew Taggart of The Chainsmokers admits his undying devotion to Ben and Jerry’s Super Fudge Chunk. Jay Alvarrez talks about his love of surfing, and feeling free for the first time. He then goes on, “The second time I fell in love, man… I hope it’s after your album, buddy.”
Whether it was a purposeful slip of the tongue or not, it seems like Kygo may have a bigger follow-up to his Stargazing EP which has features from Ellie Goulding, Selena Gomez, U2 and more. The Norwegian star’s last album, Cloud Nine, dropped in May 2016.
“Kids In Love” itself sounds big, bright and round. It’s got the shimmer of an ’80s rock ballad, from what we can hear in these short clips. Watch all the promotional “Kids in Love” clips from Instagram below.
