What’s the anatomy of a hit? What goes into the songs that soundtrack our lives? In terms of The Chainsmokers‘ latest “Somebody,” it’s a lot of modular synth work and pitched-up vocal samples.
Take a seat inside The Chainsmokers’ studio with this fun clip the pair posted to Facebook. Drew Taggart and Alex Pall promise a more intensive tutorial on how the song was made coming soon, but this gives you at least a little taste into the tireless composition process.
Fun fact: Part of the vocal was originally recorded for a different song; therein lies the reason for the pitch change.
