The fifth edition of Descarga is taking place this summer with live concerts that will later be televised on various dates on the sponsoring networks.
The live concerts, July 10-Aug. 28, will be held at CityWalk at Universal Studios and will include performances by Reik, Jencarlos Canela, Banda Los Recoditos, Joey Montana and Dyland & Lenny, among others.
Emerging artists such as Banda Los Recoditos have gone on to have bigger careers after being introduced at Descarga, says Mariluz Gonzalez, spokesperson for the free concert series which is attended by about 100,000 music fans each year who get treated to several genres including regional Mexican, urban, pop and alternative.
