Welcome to #TBT Mixtape, Billboard‘s new series that showcases artists’ very own throwback-themed playlists exclusive to Billboard‘s Spotify account. The curated set features the artists’ favorite tracks from their youth and childhood.
Rising U.K. pop star Dua Lipa dropped her self-titled debut LP less than a week ago. The set, co-written by Dua alongside a bevy of songwriting luminaries like Stephen ‘KOZ’ Kozmeniuk (Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj), Emile Haynie (Lana Del Rey, FKA Twigs), Nineteen85 (Drake, Majid Jordon) and Jon Levine (Drake, Nelly Furtado), brings the fast rising talent one step closer to global superstardom.
Feting the album’s release, Dua is in the midst of a well-deserved victory lap that began with an electrifying set at Governors Ball last weekend and continues with stops at Bonnaroo, Life Is Beautiful and B96 Pepsi Summer bash in Chicago this summer.
Now, Dua takes a look back with her very own #TBT Mixtape inspired by the “Power Pop Princesses” that came before her, made exclusively for Billboard. “Perfect sass-packed nostalgic pop for all occasions,” she describes of the set. “When will your faves ever?”
