That song is her sixth top 20 debut of 2008, a calendar year record for any artist in the history of the chart. In addition, her six debuts and seven total tracks on the Hot 100 each tie her with Hannah Montana for the most by a female artist in a single week. Swift’s second album, “Fearless,” debuted yesterday at No. 1 on The Billboard 200.
T.I.’s “Whatever You Like” is No. 2 on the Hot 100, while Beyonce’s “If I Were a Boy” rises 5-3 and Katy Perry’s “Hot N Cold” slips 3-4. Pink’s “So What,” Kevin Rudolf’s “Let It Rock” featuring Lil Wayne and Britney Spears’ “Womanizer” hold at Nos. 5-7 respectively.
Akon’s “Right Now (Na Na Na)” jumps 10-8, Kanye West’s “Love Lockdown” is up 13-9 and Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” drops 9-10 to round out the top tier.
Guns N’ Roses notches its first Hot 100 appearance since “Sympathy for the Devil” in 1995 with “Chinese Democracy,” the title track from its upcoming album. The song debuts at No. 34 after selling 57,000 downloads.
Keith Urban nets his first top 50 debut on the Hot 100 with “Sweet Thing” at No. 43. The lead single from an album due next spring also rises 30-25 on Hot Country Songs, where Swift’s “Love Story” begins a second week at No. 1.
On Hot randbHip-Hop Songs, Beyonce rockets 5-1 with “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),” her fifth solo chart-topper there. Ne-Yo earns the top debut at No. 37 with “She Got Her Own” featuring Jamie Foxx and Fabolous.
AC/DC’s “Rock’N’Roll Train” ends Metallica’s seven-week run atop Mainstream Rock with “The Day That Never Comes,” while the Offspring’s “You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid” is No. 1 on Modern Rock for a ninth week.
