Taylor Swift likely has mad love for one California judge.
United States District Court Judge Gail Standish threw out a lawsuit against Swift by musician Jessie Braham, who accused the singer of stealing the lyrics for her hit “Shake It Off” from his tune “Haters Gonna Hate.” Standish wasn’t buying the argument (and it should be noted that Braham isn’t shy about claiming various people, places and things are ripping him off) and used her written opinion to show off that she’s plenty familiar with the star.
“At present, the Court is not saying that Braham can never, ever, ever get his case back in court,” Standish wrote, according to CNN. “But, for now, we have got problems, and the Court is not sure Braham can solve them.”
“As currently drafted, the Complaint has a blank space — one that requires Braham to do more than write his name. And, upon consideration of the Court’s explanation … Braham may discover that mere pleading BandAids will not fix the bullet holes in his case. At least for the moment, Defendants have shaken off this lawsuit.”
Billboard has reached out to a rep for Swift.
