Yes, the costumes in Cats are infamously elaborate, bizarre and borderline frightening — but that was hardly the vibe on the red carpet of the film’s premiere in New York on Monday night (Dec. 16), especially for Taylor Swift.
The triple-threat was the picture of elegance upon arrival, and opted for a classic, silk Oscar de la Renta gown with an ornate floral pattern resembling that of a vintage tapestry. Giant, 3D blossoms sprouting up all over the bodice and skirt make this a look fit for pop royalty. (Taylor-made, even.)
After the premiere, she posted a photo on social media to show off the bustle and lengthy train of the gown.

Swift scored a nomination at the 2020 Golden Globes in the best original song category for her contribution to the Cats soundtrack, “Beautiful Ghosts,” a collaboration with Cats creator Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Cats hits theaters nationwide on Dec. 20. Check out Swift’s head-to-toe look from the Cats premiere below.
